I'm sorry to hear about your recent cervical screening results. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious about this news. 

An abnormal cervical screening test result means that you have changes in the cells covering the neck of your womb (cervix). It's important to try and keep in mind that abnormal cervical cells are not the same as cervical cancer.  You might find it helpful to read through some of the information on our website about abnormal cervical cells. 

I wonder if you might find it helpful to chat things through with one of our nurses. I know they will be happy to offer any information, advice and support they can. They're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040. 

Hopefully, you won't have to wait too long for an appointment at the hospital to have the cell changes treated and the team will be able to give you some reassurance.
