Endless....update on my wait for my colonoscopy results

Hi, thought I would post n update.. not much of one but a step forward following my colonoscopy 17th December.  Waiting times for results are at 20 weeks here in South Lanarkshire,  Scotland.  The medical secretary to the Colorectal consultant is 1st class...helpful, caring and understanding.  Due to the waiting time she advised me to call every couple of weeks,  which is what I have been doing.  Up until 2 weeks ago..no news..biopsies were in pathology.. thought I'd try today and told...results are through and I will ensure they go to the consultant so that a letter can be sent to you...

So...a further game of waiting...

  • Hello Eastendgirl,
    Thank you for the update.
I’m glad to hear there’s been some progress, even though the wait continues. A 20-week wait is understandably frustrating, but it’s reassuring that the medical secretary has been so supportive in keeping you informed. It sounds like you’re doing everything you can to stay on top of things, even though it’s far from easy.
I know how tough it must be to be so close to answers yet still waiting. Hopefully, the next steps will be quick, and you’ll have some clarity soon.
In the meantime, if you ever feel like talking or need support, don’t hesitate to keep posting – we’re here to listen.
    All the best,

  • Thanku so much for your reply and support,  greatly appreciated.. the secretary to the consultant is absolutely wonderful,  so caring and understanding.  Hopefully it won't be too long before I receive the results of my colonoscopy and biopsies.

    Thanku Renata ⚘️

  • I totally understand your frustration. My son who is disabled had a colonoscopy too we are waiting results they said could take 3 months (also live in Scotland) he suffers terrible pain every day and is constantly in the toilet his life is in hold due to his bowels. Hopefully once he get the results he can get the proper help and then start going out and doing the things he loves . I hope your results are all good and you also get help quickly x

  • Hopefully your son will have his results soon and receive the support needed. Thanku for your support  x
