Thyroid Cancer

This is my third post about my suspected thyroid cancer Journey,

I have recently had a CT and this is where the possibility of me having cancer was highlighted I have calcifications on my thyroid, lungs and breast.  I then next had a thyroid ultrasound scan. 2 weeks ago I had a thyroid nodule biopsy.

I attended a meeting with the ENT team and they have said that all of the tests show highly suspicious nodules but no diagnoses until the thyroid is removed. Hopefully, this will be done on March 6th

Has anyone else been down this road of not quite knowing whether it is thyroid cancer? Or did you find out straight away?

thanks friends,

Katie

  • Hello Katie

I'm sorry to hear that you've been going through some testing for a possible diagnosis of thyroid cancer. It's understandable that this may have been an anxious time.

It's good to know that you now have a date for surgery and hopefully, once this has been done the specialists will be able to give you a clear picture of what has been going on for you.

I know from the many posts that I've read on the forum over the years that this period of waiting and uncertainty is not uncommon for people with thyroid issues.

If it would help to talk things through with one of our nurses ahead of your surgery you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

Do let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
