Hello all, I just had blood tests which were concerning regarding my liver, they thought it could be fatty liver but when they did an abdominal ultrasound they found a type II Bosniak cyst on my right kidney almost by chance while doing the scan. Given both my grandfathers had cancer of the lung (85 when died) and prostate (74 when died) and I have had generalised symptoms of ill health including many overlapping symptoms that were concerning, I asked for cancer markers and PSA, AFP were normal but CEA came back raised. This isn’t normal but not sure it is used to screen for cancer. My FIT stool test was normal (under 10, it was 10). The GP said they are making a Rapid Assessment Diagnosis referral for my fears of cancer but I feel confused, worried and anxious that they will take this seriously quickly enough. Because I had been tested initially while I was travelling abroad not on the NHS it was a specialist who did the initial bloods and scan and recommended PET and CT and Mantoux but I came back to the UK to get NHS advice and continuity of care and it has meant more time spent persuading the doctor GP of my concerns and repeating all the tests here. Thank you for letting me share. (Male, 38, Human) Bless you all
