Hello, I’m a male aged 39 and i am a HGV driver, I’ve had a positive fit test of 150 ug /g and I’m feeling pretty worried about it. Iv got a colonoscopy soon and was just looking for anyone else that’s had this and there results.

Hi my husband had similar results, he's 10 years older than you and it was not cancer, it was diverticulitis.
Thank you for the reply, that’s good to hear. I’ve not heard of that before, I’ll have to research what that is
Hi. I didn't have that exactly, but when I was 40, I had rectal bleeding, some weight loss, occasional loose stools and trapped wind and the doctor said I'd be the "unluckiest person in the world" if it turned out to be cancer, given my age. He also said it was quite likely a FIT test would be positive and didn't seem to think that would be concerning.
From what I've read 10% of positive FITs are cancer and age makes a difference. At 39, it's likely your odds are a bit lower than that. Lots of things can cause a positive FIT - diverticulitis, Crohn's, ulcerative colitis, an infection, a fissure, hemorrhoids, a polyp and yeah, cancer.
Hope you get good news.
Thanks for the reply and info, I had a parent pass away from cancer so since then I’ve been anxious about it too which doesn’t help with my thoughts, I’m glad you didn’t have it
I had the colonoscopy and it was all clear apart from hemorrhoids :)
Yay, happy to hear it was nothing serious.
Delighted to hear that.
