My husband was sent for a routine chest x ray which showed a lung lesion. Straighaway away he had a contrast CT scan. This was a week ago. Yesterday a call from the lung dept at hospital to say a 5cm lesion along with one inflamed lymph node as shown on CT. He now as to go for:
PET scan
Head MRI scan
Lung function tests
Dont know in what order.
What we dont understand is he isnt ill no symptoms. My husband had a stroke 7 yrs ago & as a right side weakness & uses a walking stick. So hes much slower walking now due to the stroke.
The reason why GP asked for the chest x ray is, when he went for his yearly post stroke review, they booked him in on the top floor of surgery, no lift & very steep winding stairs. So by the time he got to the GP room she asked him how long he had been breathless. He explained the reason why he was a bit out of breath.
We both had a chest infection in October both had antibiotocs, his cleared up quicker than mine.
Since then nothing, no cough no blood no weigh loss etc tho I think we're both going to have weight loss as cant eat.
This has taken us both by surprise & literally both like zombies.
I cant see what else this 5cm lesion can be.....
