Tongue biopsy

Hi I had a tongue biopsy with three stitches 6 days ago, Iv never felt pain like it. I was not prepared for how sore my mouth would be and how difficult it is to eat and talk, but what’s worse is I keep biting my tongue in my sleep, something Iv never done before the biopsy. Has anyone experienced this. I’m now scared to sleep.

    I guess must be where precisely sample is taken. I had 1 in 2018 (followed by a laser excision) and another, nearer floor of cavity, 2 days ago. No stitches first time, 1 or 2 this time. The most recent the more painful. It's the pulling of the tongue to reach the back that hurts the most!

    After 2 days just discomfort rather than pain. 

    Maybe experience of those carrying out the tricky procedure also relevant?

    Hope eased off by now.
