  • Eastendgirl it’s not knowing any thing it really gets to you  the tumour I have seems to be big which is a worry you get to wonder what they can do   You get so down with constant toilet trips and blood  mucus  even passing wind  some times go to the bath room incase it’s more than just wind. Can all get you down if you let it. I don’t go out any more because of needing toilet. Don’t know how I will go on Thursday for the scan with constantly needing the loo  how do you cope with all that  xx

  • First of all..the scan..the technician will be used to reassuring and caring for you,  you won't be the first patient in that situation..

Due to other health issues I have been housebound [essential medical appts only] since Oct 2019 and have had to accept the different way of life.. I  have adapted over the past 50 years following major health issues.. this situation is just another one to add to the list...

This situation is slightly different,  in as much as the previous conditions were dealt with by surgery...depending upon the diagnosis and prognosis,  this is very different.

I am a realist, always have been, my glass is always half full, I'm a survivor,  proven that time after time for almost 77 years.. so I will stay strong, offer love, support,  care and understanding where I can.. in the meantime,  I will look for the positive in every day...we have endured the storm [ I live in Scotland]  no structural damage.. so all good..tomorrow I will take part in the RBS bird count.. and enjoy watching the birds who visit me every day ️

take care , I'll be holding your hand on Thursday if that's okay with you  xx

  • Eastendgirl you are amazing  I’m sorry life as not been so kind to you  you sound to have been through such a lot and yes you are a survivor you are a strong lady  lovely when birds come to visit your garden I love to watch the birds  brings you closer to nature   You are very supportive and caring  and I will take you up on holding my hand on Thursday lots of love to you my dear friend xxx

  • Hope all goes well on Thursday, Tango. Will be thinking of you.

We're planning to do the bird watch/count too. My youngest adores all animals.

So glad you avoided damage from the storm, EEG. Sounded pretty scary.

  • James4000 hi James thank you James I just love watching the birds I have to smile they come in my garden especially in the summer when it’s hot and I love to sit and watch them drinking water from my waterfalls I sit very still  I have a large blue and gold macaw as my baby so yes I love birds  xx

  • TangoPotter...I feel honoured and blessed to be with you on Thursday... I will polish my broomstick ready for departure

Try and get some rest tonight xx

  • I've lived through hurricanes and tropical storms in the Caribbean... never experienced anything like that in the UK

    Good luck tomorrow

  • Eastendgirl dreading the CT scan I got a letter today telling me what there scanning for abdomen pelvis thorax with contrast  dreading it it says it takes an hour that includes 30 min of preparation

  • Okay....the staff, technicians and nurses deal with patients who are nervous, terrified and going through the worst time in the lives..every single day, multiple times a day, they will support you,  be caring and understanding..they will reassure you, explain every step of the process...they understand how you are feeling and will offer empathy,  knowing how scared you are.. if you can breathe.. slowly in your nose and gently out of your mouth,  it will make a real difference to you..concentrate on your breathing,  not on what's going on around you..focus your mind somewhere else,  somewhere special to you, close your eyes and listen to my voice..I will be talking to you..in situations like this,  I go to the beach, a quiet deserted beach, I can hear the gentle lapping of the waves, the breeze in the palm trees, a distant bird call and feel myself drifting into a place filled with peace and calm..you got this tango,  we've got this..

  • Eastendgirl. Thank you. I’m just a wreck  I appreciate you taking the time to reply it means a lot. Will be glad when it’s over I will be ok just feeling down with every thing. Thank you for been there. Xxx

  • I'm always here,  don't forget that xx
