Ca125 results

Hiya.

I have been bleeding for nearly 7 months and have alot of pain in my hip, groin and lower back. I had a ca 125 done and it's ame back 135. My doctor said this is high but others have said its not bad and unlikely to be cancer. Has anybody had near the same levels and been ok x

  • Hi Amy,

I am sorry to hear about the symptoms you have been experiencing for all these months. You did well to go and see a doctor about this and it's good that they have done the CA 125 test. As you will see on this page from our website which has information on the CA125 blood test, "the CA125 test shows that there is inflammation around the pelvis but it can’t tell what is causing the inflammation." Some non cancerous conditions of the womb and ovaries can also raise the levels of CA125 so having a raised level doesn't necessarily indicate cancer. All you can do really for now is wait for all your test results to come through and to have a bit more clarity on what is causing these issues - it shouldn't take too long hopefully for you to find out more but in the meantime I thought I would share with you these helpful tips to help you cope while waiting for important news.

I hope that you will hear from other members of our community who have had similar levels and that they will share with you what it turned out to be in their particular case.

Keeping everything crossed for you that it all turns out to be nothing of concern.

    Best wishes,
