im in a similar boat 

just got fit results only slightly above normal but still now waiting for triage to call booking me in asap for whichever tests & investigations they feel are necessary- I’m 37 so honestly know your worries as have no doubt many similar. 
results will decide what happens next- my gp was booking an ultrasound if fit was negative, so that’s always another avenue depending.  you hear back soon x

Thanks for ur reply sorry to hear your in a similar situation. The waiting game is awful and I’m literally going out of my mind can’t eat or sleep constantly worrying. I’m back to work tomorrow after maternity leave so that’s adding to everything. Hope you get some answers soon sending lots of love xxxx

I was told up to 9 working days- they had mine within 4/5 having put the referral through as urgent yesterday. If negative then just make sure they explore other avenues to get you the necessary answers. 
turns out I had a lot of less obvious symptoms I had mentioned to 2 different gps in the last year yet never got told to do the fit test until drastic weight loss around Xmas & extreme nausea too it’s become tedious & am so weak day to day trying hard to keep managing xx

Thank you and really hope you get the answers and start to feel better. Are you bloods results ok or were they abnormal? Same I just put the exhaustion down to looking after a house and kids but deep down I know that something is not right xx

Bloods weren’t particularly concerning but they’ll rerun no doubt at the hospital as it was something in the liver function alongside ferritin being on the low side… which originally I’d commented about previously with iron & hormone issues being perimenopausal- but maybe we are going to find gynaecological interlinks with these bowel checks as know I’ve got cysts fibroids & had endometriosis which don’t help matters! But the bowel/stomach issues have been since I got Covid & never quite returned to remotely normal, 

sad isn’t it that I’m worried but relieved at the very same time- people kept saying it’s all in my head or my own doing when I had a breakdown early 2024 mentally it took most of the year to get myself on track again- then boom sudden weight loss very drastic since Xmas eve onwards. That’s the only reason they’ve finally listened to my complaints.

we know our bodies or at least, know when they aren’t right- keep battling for answers as we all deserve those even with delayed treatment times around any diagnosis xxx

any results?

mine meant waiting for the phone call under local colorectal cancer team.

got that to book todays pre investigative surgery with a nurse all relevant info deciding which tests.

she was going to book a colonoscopy for next week & then the question arose about weight loss as she hadn’t clearly taken my concerns on board with referral saying urgent checks due to iron deficient anaemia & change of bowel movements

so now I am literally waiting for a call daily asking me to come into either hospital to see the consultant surgeon & clarify incase other tests are necessary which now is likely! 

feel horrendous just want answers so I can get back to normal which was manageable most of the time!

nope still waiting for fit results to come back not in a good frame of mind really anxiety is through the roof and think feeling unwell due to lack of iron just put this down to being a mum etc no e rything is starting to make sense. Added with having a sickness bug.

aww how awful having to play the waiting game and feeling poorly too hope you get that call soon I’m hoping when we actually both find out what is going on it will feel slightly better having abit of control, it’s the not knowing that’s driving me mad.

do chase the go surgery daily checking.

they had to chase me as it was earlier than I anticipated & gave her a reason for different referral.

never have they discussed in depth anything about my iron levels nor now what flagged within liver results as slightly raised- it’s now relevant with the fit test too. That isn’t worrying as only just in there but that was a day able to erm produce anything actually useable lol 

seriously chase daily as if negative then you can chase for other tests instead which is also good as a lot aren’t linked to cancer types!

Yea I will do did phone today to ask if they were going to supply any iron tablets etc as it’s so low but said that I’ve got an appointment on the 3rd so the doctor will discuss it all with me then! I keep checking the nhs app every hour to see if the fit test result has come through but doubt they do them over the weekend.

i really hope you get some answers soon. Yes even if my fit test is negative they need to get to the bottom of the symptoms and why my ferretin is in its boots xxx
