All correspondence goes to your gp whether they tell you or not. I have never been given anything to do with scan results away with me. They are put on the hospital portal, a qualified radiologist looks them over, and the results get moved to your gp notes. You might get told everything is ok, but they have to still do it all by the book. You're reading waaay too much into this. Something we all do when worried.

Forgot to add, this is done because you are not medically qualified to interpret proper medical jargon. Thus misunderstandings are very common when patients read their reports because they don't fully understand what is being said. you see it on here a lot. People who have accessed their records, have themselves dead and buried before they've had anything explained to them. Things that usually mean "normal".

But, I’m guessing it was always going to say this given I’ve got a raised node which just isn’t normal in itself, it just feels a bit incongruous given the scanner said fairly normal and not to worry.

Exactly. An enlarged node is not normal. But nodes being nodes, regularly never shrink back to their pre swelling size, thus it's abnormal from your old normal. That is exactly why they send it to the gp so the gp can tell you it's a new normal. This is why information without proper context is a very bad thing in the hands of us people who lack the ability to interpret medical reports properly. We've all been guilty of it.

Most humans on this planet will have at least one node that is palpable that never used to be before the infection that enlarged it. I have had 2 or 3 for 30+ years, since i used to have regular bouts of tonsillitis. The virus has been out of my system for decades, but some nodes never went back to their proper size. But they're now normal for me.

Just wanted to update because I found it very helpful when others did. 

ultrasound scan confirmed I had two 4mm & 6mm reactive lymph nodes that showed no sign of anything worrying.

GP said to just keep an eye and if they get any bigger to pop back in but nothing to worry about. 

they've come on following a very stressful period on my life so I’m now just prioritising looking after myself a bit more!
