I was diagnosed with a 3.5cm ovarian cyst on my left ovary last April. Went for 12 week follow up and it was still there but thankfully was the same size. At this scan the sonographer said she couldn't see my right ovary because of too much gas. I didn't have time to get a transvaginal scan done as my 3 kids were in the waiting room, she said to wait and see what my GP said.
She put in my notes the right ovary was clear and that I 'refused the transvaginal scan! I was furious. I was referred to gynaecology, and at a few visits to my GP because symptoms were getting worse (constipation, bloating, pain, etc) my GP said she felt swelling on my right side and recommended an ultrasound twice. Both times I was refused and told to wait for my gynaecology appointment, however GP put in my gynaecology as more urgent as was having pain and CA125 was slowly rising (not over 35 but rising between appointments 2 weeks apart).
Got my gynaecology appointment through for 3 weeks from now, however I've now had a stabbing, sharp pain in my right side for past week which feels internal and not muscular. Just wondering if anyone with or without a diagnosis has experienced this? Should I contact my GP or wait 3 weeks? It is worrying me a lot that it might mean I do have a cyst on my right, and because it's not been seen by a scan.
