Waiting for results.

I’ve recently had a lot of bleeding, gushes of blood so went to see the GP and I was referred for a colonoscopy.

i had it done yesterday, 3 polyps were found, 2 were removed but the 3rd was 3.5cm and so much to big to remove. It had been biopsied but I can’t help but worry that due to its size that it’s much more than a polyp.
I’ve read about people being told during their colonoscopy that they have cancer, is that standard practice? Would I have been told if they thought it could be cancerous.

Has anybody had a polyp this size and everything turn out ok?

Im worried sick, im only 35 and have a 4 year old and newborn baby, I cant seem to focus on anything other than waiting for the results at the moment.

  • Hello Banjo_25,

It is normal to be worried about this big polyp that was found and I am not sure what the standard practice actually is but I am keeping everything crossed that the biopsy will confirm that this was just a polyp. I hope that you won't have to wait too long for these important results and that it all turns out to be nothing of concern.
