Provisional Diagnosis says MPN

hi there, 2 months ago my husband went to emergency for he felt like TIA symptoms he went n the hospital did all the tests ct scan mri, xrays n blood tests, today i received his blood tests appointment on which its says provisional diagnosis is MPN, n the blood test form came from malignancy department, i am really worried now my husband doesn’t know about it bcz he is not medical person but i am really worried what does mean by provisional diagnosis, is it their doubt or what , why would my husband have MPN i dont understand, how will i live without him , every bad thing is hitting my mind now

    Welcome to Cancer Chat. It sounds like there is quite a bit of uncertainty and I am sure this must be a lot to deal with.

    I'm not too sure why they have said it is provisional. Perhaps you are also waiting on other results from the other tests. If so, then hopefully you'll get all the information you need soon.

    If you have questions at that point or beforehand, do of course speak to your husband's doctor about this, as they will be best placed to advise.

    its written in blood tests form that clinical test information is : suspicion: polycythemia vera,

    i dont know if this is just a suspicion n i should hope that it will be wrong or its confirmed, i am really worried about it
