Sclerotic Lesions

I have multiple sclerotic lesions on my spine. I am waiting for an appointment with a private haematologist. These were discover when I was having investigations for kidney cancer. I had a kidney mass which was removed but later found to be a benign renal leiomyoma. I waited most of last year for an NHS haemotology appointment which has not happened. The treatment I had last year was excellent btw. I am aware that a lot of sclerotic lesions are benign.I am sixty three.

  • Hello EJ7861

I'm sorry to hear that you've had some ongoing health concerns over the past year. It's understandable that you may be feeling anxious about the lesions that were found on your spine.

Do you have a date for your appointment with the private specialist? Hopefully, you won't have to wait too long and they will be able to give you some reassurance when you see them.

If in the meantime you'd like to talk with one of our nurses for some advice and support you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

I do hope that you have some answers soon.

    Best wishes,

  • Thank you for replying. I am waiting for the consultant to evaluate my notes. I will be offered an appointment on 21st January. It is odd that the NHS did not offer me an appointment. I was referred twice by my Urologist and it isn’t his speciality. I will let you know how I get on. I’m guessing thatI might have to have a biopsy.

The secretary seems in no hurry to offer me an appointment. If this does not happen with this consultant then we will have to go with someone else.

My appointment is on 2nd February
