High grade (moderate) cell changes and HPV

Hey guys, so I have had hpv virus since October/november 2021, had my smear every year after that with hpv but no cell changes, last year was my first smear to come back as borderline changes again with hpv. Went for my colposcopy all was fine, said there was no need for treatment or biopsy. A year later went for my next smear and now I have high grade (moderate) cell changes and obviously hpv. Please can someone put my mind at ease as I’m panicking, I know there is nothing I can do and I’ve just got to go with the flow and wait for my appointment at the hospital but can someone please share their stories if you have had the same, what happened? Are you okay now etc?I don’t have any symptoms as such I do sometimes bleed after sex but I’ve always had this and when I say bleed I mean a bit of pink not heavy blood if that makes sense, but again I have always had this every so often so it isn’t something that’s come out of the blue. Please just someone put my mind at ease,  Thank you ️

I'm sorry to hear that over the past few years, you've had ongoing concerns with your cervical health. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious about the most recent results

It may help to try and keep in mind that abnormal cervical cells are not the same as cervical cancer. Many many women successfully have cervical cell changes treated every year and hopefully the the colposcopy team will be able to offer you some reassurance at your appointment.

We do have some information on our website about abnormal cervical cells that you may find useful but I'd also suggest giving our team of nurses a call and talking things through with them. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any information, advice and support they can ahead of your appointment. If you'd like to talk with them they're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

I hope that you don't have to wait too long for your appointment. Let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
