My little girl who is now 18 months old has had a lump in the left side of her neck since she was 5 months old.
She had blood tests when she was 10 months old and we were asked to go back for repeat bloods 8 weeks later due to an elevated blood marker. When the bloods were repeated the results came back as clear, so the GP said that this elevated marker was just caused by an infection as she did have a flu at the time of the bloods.
The GP did write to the paediatricians at the hospital to ask further advice and the conclusion was that the lymph node was just swollen from a previous infection and nothing to worry about, however, the lump is still there and I do form time to time think and worry about it!
Is there a possibility that it could be something more sinister than just a swollen node form a previous infection, or would this have shown in her blood work?
I know I should just accept the paediatrician’s advice, however I can’t help but worry as a first time mum!
