Colonoscopy

Hi every one I’m due for a colonoscopy on Tuesday I’m feeling really scared don’t really feel.upto the procedure as I really suffer with stress and anxiety but I know I need to do this  I have been feeling as if I need to poo but some times it’s just reddish pus and feeling very gassy but because of feeling I need to poo I’m always in the bathroom , been having problems for a while now. I thought maybe I just had internal piles but when I went to my gp doctor couldn’t see or feel any thing so did a fit test which came back positive  so I was referred for a colonoscopy  I’m so scared of having cancer  not looking forward to the bowel prep  I think your all a lot braver than me   Xx

  • It doesn't matter if the colour is yellowish mine never went completely clear .

  • I have the same as two of you mentioned- passing quite a lot of blood and mucus. It was occasional, now it's every day. I can relate to what you said about it being scary just going to the toilet. But it's good to know this isn't so unusual and I suppose it's part fo the body dealing with the issue (whether piles, or in my case something worse).

My big immediate worry is that I'm struggling to eat and am losing too much weight. I've been anemic a while (presumably due to losing blood), so I don't have as much energy. My stomach then doesn't feel great, but I think that's directly  connected to anxiety - does anyone else experience that?

  • Hoping everything goes well for you today x

  • I didn't feel like eating either, that was the last thing I was thinking of x so I do understand what your going through x

Thinking of you today WE got this xx

  • They rang about an hour ago asking if I can come in earlier as they have had a lot of cancellations so I have to be there for 13 15 I told her my couloir is orange yellow but not see through she said it should be fine  as long as no bits  my stomach still making loud noises

  • That is the same colour as mine was and it was fine ,I hope things go well , Jenny

  • My stomach still making loud noises

  • That's ok, you'll feel much better after its all over and you have some answers to what's been going on ,once you get to the hospital they will make you feel  much more relaxed .

  • Hi every one went for colonoscopy  wish I hadn’t I have a growth in my rectum the took 8 biopsies  I can feel that growth inside my bottom I thought I had piles  it was all horrible kept blowing wind inside me I had to keep letting it out  feel down I thought I would come back feeling great but no I have cancer  she said it could have been there some time  so on this 2 week path way and they don’t know if it’s gone through any where else bowel wall

  • Aww, everything you are saying is identical to what Ive gone through x everything will be fast tracked now

I had my colonosphy 1st December, my 1st chemo started 3rd January

    I've had 4 scans since, I had 10 biopsies

Same as you I "felt" my tumour, I just thought it was piles as my bowel screening I had done a few months back as nothing found

If it wasn't for a new doctor reviewing another problem I had god knows what would have happened as I've no symptoms

She was the one who asked did I have any problems with my bowels or bladder, I too said I've got piles

Nope, it was a bloody tumour

The worst part for me was waiting for and having scan results to confirm Exactly what was going on and what would happen next

Mine has gone to my liver, but they can zap that they said

Still haven't had my results from a full body scan and full liver scan to see if it's spread any further

No news is good news hopefully

Not a good day today for me, feeling sorry for myself, so bored too, I'm used to working 10 hrs day

Tomorrow will5bd better for me, I'm determined to get out of this rut I'm in xx
