Possible cervical cancer

Hey all, long one so please bare with me,

I'm 34 years old, I have the hpv virus so have yearly smears, silly me missed my smear this year,

Fast forward to 3 weeks ago, I started my period, lasted longer than usual and I'm always spot on, stopped but was experiencing bleeding during intercourse and after, random bleeding when urinating and period like cramps, exactly a week after I finished my period I started again, so I booked an appointment with my doctor, she put me on tablets to stop the bleeding so I could have swabs taken, a smear, bloods and scans,

My bloods have come back normal, my swabs have xome back with no sti, still awaiting smear results, I went for my scans today, one on my stomach and one internal to chexk for pcos, pcos is negative but they have said that there's a possibility of pregnancy, now I know I'm not pregnant, 3 tests have confirmed I'm not so I'm back and the doctors tomorrow, silly me has checked the internett and it says cervical cancer can be mistaken for pregnancy on one of these scans, so my question is, has any one been through the same? What has the out Come been?

Thankyou for reading

  • Hello LauraO

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently had some health concerns. It sounds like your GP has been really supportive in arranging investigations since you initially visited them and I hope that your appointment yesterday brought some further answers and reassurance.

Hopefully, some of the members on the forum who have been through similar experiences will post to share their stories with you. In the meantime, if there's anything you'd like to talk through with one of our nurses you can call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any support, advice and information they can.

I hope that things improve for you soon.

    Best wishes,
