Thickning of the womb

Hello, I'm nearly 39 in a few weeks and have really bad pain in lower abdomen & right side, the pain goes down my right leg and right hip. I have had the ultrasound scan and vaginal scan. Which showed a cyst on my left ovary which as a line down the middle so is considered abnormal. I've had some bloods done for this on Thursday so awaiting result, I also have thickening of the womb which is thicker than they would like. I am having the biopsy taken on the 19th of December and my gynecologist as recommended I have a hormonal coil fitted the same time. As anyone gone through this and had a good outcome. I've tearing my hair out with what could be happening to me.

  • I'm also waiting for a biopsy. It's so stressful, just feel completely in limbo and cycle between thinking I've weeks to live and telling myself I'm being a drama queen and snap out of it. I have PTSD, anxiety and depression so finding the complete lack of updates really hard. I don't even know what to expect from the biopsy and google isn't helpful - that just made me think I'm inoperable and that's all they can do. Mine is booked for the 16th.

  • I am the same, I'm switching between thinking im nuts, and it's probably just a type of endometriosis. Then thinking I'll be diagnosed terminal illness, I honestly feel like screaming so bad right now I'm absolutely terrified. Have they advised you to have a coil fitted at the time of biopsy? I'm really hoping I can tolerate the biopsy as I am staying away to have it done. Honestly I am praying for you right now sending hugs

  • All I know is it's a 30 minute appointment... receptionist couldn't tell me anymore than that. I have no idea how they locate the cyst to even take a biopsy... I've been bleeding really heavily for the last four weeks so very uncomfortable with being poked and prodded. I have not been advised to have a coil.. I haven't been advised of anything. Saw the consultant, he hadn't looked at my ultrasound (had that done at my GP surgery) gave me an internal exam and said he would call me back after viewing the ultrasound.. he didn't. When I picked up the courage to follow up was told by the receptionist I had to have an MRI... had that... heard nothing. Finally got another call from the receptionist saying I had to come in for a biopsy. Would be nice to know what was going on as you interpret silence as bad news. I'm 55 so quite happy for them to just take everything out and would much rather they did that now and worry about whether it's cancer later...Here's hoping we both have a happy resolution sooner rather than later.

  • I feel the same, I would happily have a hysterectomy tomorrow. I'm more worried about the pain if I'm honest it's constant this week abdominal pain hip pain back pain. When it's hurting it's making me think it's getting worse over the weeks. I also get really bloated after eating and the pain seems to be worse after food. I need to stop googling symptoms as I'm worrying about a new cancer every day. I'm worried as I have a 13 year old child a still have many years on my mortgage I cannot be off work. It's so much going round in my head

  • That must be really hard. My kids are all grown up so easier. I have been off sick for 4 weeks already so I need them to move things along a bit quicker. Not able to work as bleeding is too heavy and I am an emotional wreck - I think losing so much blood all the time doesn't help with energy levels and emotional state! Only time I leave the house is to see a doctor. Have they told you how big your cyst is? Mine is 9cms by 8cms so quite large - I'm bloated all the time but oddly have very little feeling in my belly at all. Mostly just a dull ache

  • It's really hard, I'm supposed to be getting married next may, everything is booked and in place. I have 2 older children 1 working & moved out & one in university in student accommodation. I can't help but feel guilty if I am seriously ill. They've told me the cyst is 2cm by 3cm but has a line down the middle which tells them it's abnormal. I have pain feeling in lower belly feels a bit like gas moving around with the odd sharp pain. The most pain is on the right side just below rib area and in abdomen area on right. Last 2 weeks I've started having pain down the right leg. Rather random and new. I bleed heavy on period but never have in-between bleeding neither do I have irregular bleeding. Just normal timed period but heavier and more painful. Bloating is what I feel aswell and worse after eating. I thought my cyst was large but it's tiny compared to yours. Also my cyst is on the left ovary but the pain is on the right mostly. No clue what's going on.

  • Mine is on the right but i feel pain on the left so go figure - I was wondering whether it was their right rather than my right! Did you read the article on the state of the NHS and gynaecology waiting lists at the moment Starting to think the biopsy is just a way of prioritising... pretty sure if its not cancerous I'm going to be stuck on a waiting list forever. Am now signed off until 6th January as bleeding is so heavy I'm spending half the day on the toilet.. So tired and fed up.
