Worried with the symptoms - Ovarian symptoms

I feel ridiculous for even writing this but my mind is running away with me. I'm 37 year old woman, who's had two children. On the 18th November I had this horrendous pain down below that lasted a few minutes - almost like child birth. Since I have been left with discomfort at the top left of my stomach, down the centre and like a smiley face underneath my belly button, with bloatedness. I have lost my appetite (not sure if this is due to being anxious), I also feel the smallest bit nauseous. Sometimes the annoyance can be felt on the right side of my back. My CA-125 can back in the normal range of 8. I am due to have a external and internal scan on Monday.

I'm really worried that this could be ovarian cancer as my mum's sister passed of this.

I guess I'm just looking for reassurance x

  • Hello. I would certainly be assured with a CA125 as low as that. I think it’s much more likely they are looking for perhaps a cyst or probably ultrasound some digestive areas too.

  • Hello. I am going through the same at 38. Well nearly 39 at end of this month. I've just had my blood taken for the test but not had results yet. Can I ask how long the results took and how long it took you to receive them? I only had the scan and blood taken on Thursday. I have a cyst on left ovary which looks abnormal due to having a line down the middle. And thickening of the womb. I'm having a biopsy done on the 19th

  • Thank you so much for coming back to me. I have been googling like mad for it to say that you can still have a low CA125 and it be bad - I guess you can find all sorts of info when looking in the web x

  • Hey, I'm so sorry you are also going through the same! My bloody CA125 came back the next day. What symptoms did you have to that made you go to the doctor's x

  • I was told should be 5 days. They said they were taking blood to do test on the cyst as its abnormal so I'm wondering if they mean the CA125 test. I have been having side pain for a long time, but recently had  really heavy periods which got more painful. I was at work last Sunday and I had such bad abdominal pain in the middle but moving to the right, luckily I work in a hospital ward and I went to a&e thinking it could be appendicitis. I had a CT scan which showed no appendicitis but they told me something had shown up on my uterus which got me worried, I went home and had a phone call on Monday to go for the scan on Thursday, to which I did and have recently found out about the thickening & cyst which as all come as a surprise really. But since last week I've been having really bad pain

  • Have you checked your NHS app as your results could have been uploaded on there. I have the marina coil and have had cysts but we're told what I was normal. I am sending all the positive thoughts your way! Please keep me updated (if you remember ). I know it's really hard and I am totally stressing but please try not to panic xx

  • I'm not helping myself as I am searching my symptoms online. I've started to have leg pain aswell as back pain. Usually the pain would come and go now it's all the time. I'm worried sick. I just want to go back to work and carry on with normal life. Did you have the coil because of the issue's?

  • I've had to stay away from Google as driving myself crazy!! I've also had cramp in my left leg but the mind is a wonderful thing and can play tricks on you. I've had the coil for years, but the coils can cause cysts. Did you manage to check the NHS app

  • I've just checked the app now. There is nothing on there. It's not even showing my hospital appointments

  • the app doesn't show my hospital appointments either - according to the app I'm still awaiting a referral. I think it's a case of the hospital just doesn't share any information.
