Biopsy result

I have a 33mm lump in my neck. Had ultra sound, mri and core biopsy under ultrasound around 5 weeks ago. I have just received my follow up appointment for the end of January. That’s around 8 weeks away. Is this a good sign that it’s nothing serious? Or is it normal to wait a long time for results? Thank you

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently been through some investigations of a lump in your neck. It's understandable that you may be feeling anxious about the wait for your results.

It's impossible to say if the length of time you wait is linked to the news that you'll be given. There are just so many variables in play that it would only be a guess.

The good news is that you do have an appointment date (albeit a few weeks away yet). Hopefully, the team will be able to give you answers and reassurance when you see them.

In the meantime, try not to search the internet for answers but stay busy and try to keep a positive frame of mind.

I hope that you get welcome news at your appointment. Do let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
