Worried I have lymphoma

Hi,

would appreciate if someone could talk to me about my situation.

for the past 2 weeks I have had a very painful lump under my armpit. It has grown bigger since I noticed it weeks ago, it is so painful that I can’t lift up my arm straight and is hard and doesn’t move. I have also had horrible neck pain which has lead to me having a bad throat, so bad that I thought my tonsils were growing back-after having a tonsillectomy 2 years ago. I have also had drenching night sweats every single night. I have a fever and chills, bad fatigue and an awful headache-these symptoms I put down to me having covid last month but I’m really worried it’s not that.

my family are telling me to stop googling and to just book an appointment but I can’t not google as I’m panicking. I am also unsure about what to do with my doctors. I am at university right now and can’t have any time off to go home to the doctors. My doctors at home also aren’t very good usually. I haven’t registered my doctors for my uni town so think I’ll have to go home to get an appointment. Getting an appointment on my home town for the one day a week that I can do is going to be tough as my doctors never seem to have any appointments.

Thanks for reading x

  • Hi PLEASE don't put off getting an appointment. My mum has a similar lump on her back but not painful like yours, it's being taken very seriously with scans and appointments already booked/done. Personally, I'm glad my mum is going through all the difficult stages of being seen now and catching it early rather than putting off and hoping for the best as if it is something it's caught in the early stages and easier to handle (I hope!!)

Try 111 if you don't have a registered GP nearby, mum was able to get a hospital appointment on a Saturday evening
