Unusual mouth blisters awaiting biopsy

Hi - I'm panicking slightly and looking for input. 6 weeks go i said to my husband that i thought i had a cold coming on.  I had a bit of a sore throat, a numb tongue and a blocked ear. Coincidentally i had a routine dentist app't the following week. I didn't even mention the fact i had been feeling odd but straight away she noticed i had a small lump in my mouth that she thought was a mucocele. She asked me to go back in 3 weeks to check up on itm fully expecting it to have cleared. In that 3 weeks i had 9/10 blisters in my mouth on the left retromolar pad and roof of my mouth. They weren't all there at the same time, some popped and refilled, others were new and one bled. She referred me to the hospital and i had a consultant app't yesterday. I have now had up to 20 blisters, still all in the same patch, mostly now refills as the whole area has been affected.  He said it was a 'highly unusual presentation' and has requested a biopsy which i will have next week. 

Other things to note which the consultant couldn't decide if relevant or not, was that in the past 2 weeks i had a swelling on my right eye, which was sore initially and then formed into a painless lump, most of which has now gone down, i have also had some aching pain behind my right eyebrow.

I know noone on here can diagnose me but i wonder if anyone has experienced similar? I know I shouldn't be researching but it's impossible not to and i function better when i'm informed.

I'm not a smoker, i don't drink heavily and i have good dental hygiene

    I worked in a dental setting for years, and what you have described sounds like it's an autoimmune thing going on.

    These things can be triggered by viruses and whatnot. Personal question, how are your number 2 toilet habits? Reason for asking, Crohn's can manifest in the mouth like this. The eye thing could be totally unrelated, or if it's a general autoimmune thing, it could be related. But your gp would be batter placed to discuss this with. But yeah, the mouth thing has an overreacting immune response written all over it. That said, you can have 2 different things going on at once, so the lump could be unrelated and it's always best practice to get any lump looked at that lasts for more than 2 weeks. Any lump, bump, lesion, ulcer, red/white patch that doesn't disappear within 2 weeks needs looked at. Most turn out to be nothing, but they simply have to refer due to how fast cells grow in the mouth.

    Forgot to add, sties can appear when you're run down. So it's probably a sty. Just sounds like whatever you had you took a wee reaction to it. That can happen

    Hi, thanks so much for the reply and no problem with the ask but no problems with no 2. Very regular and regular consistency and no pain or bloating or anything .

    The consultant did mention autoimmune possibilities but I'm just so confused as I have no other symptoms I'm aware of other than what's happening in my mouth.

    I'd put my mortgage on it that it is an immune system thing. Whether it's temporary or not, i dunno. But viruses, even a common cold, can make your immune system go haywire. Sometimes in life your immune system just goes crazy for no apparent reason, or you could have had an autoimmune condition that was just waiting to be triggered into life. There are lots of autoimmune conditions, so you might need further testing on that front.
