about 3 weeks ago I had a private BUPA check-up through work. The doctor recommended I get a couple of moles checked out by my GP (with a dermatascope) which I did a week ago today. The GP said he wasn't worried about either of the moles but sent pictures of one of the moles to Dermatology Advice and Guidance (A&G team). The letter I saw (on my NHS App) said I wanted reassurance and a second opinion. I didn't actually say that directly but I guess he could tell I was slightly concerned and wanted to be sure himself. Anyway, I've just heard back from the GP today via text and he said "the Dermatology department are going to offer you an appointment to be seen in clinic. This should be in a few weeks time". I'm now anxious that this is in fact a 2 week wait/urgent referral but that he hasn't said so directly so as not to worry me or something...a few weeks; is that the same as 2 weeks? I haven't actually spoken to him, I'll try calling the doctors tomorrow to ask but just wondered if anybody else had experience of being told everything looked 'pretty normal and benign' and then getting called in like this. I can't see what the Dermatology team said in response to the GPs letter/the pics on my NHS app unfortunately.
Thank you in advance for any insight and/or reassurance you can offer.
