Accessing CT results

I had a CT scan 4 weeks ago and I have been told the radiologist has reported on it.  I managed to get the images but I am not a doctor how do i get the radiologist report that goes with it.

I am major anxious and would assume if there was cancer or anything on the scan someone wouldve got in touch pretty quickly?

  • Hi Brenda

If it was your gp that referred you for your ct scan, you would need to contact them to arrange an appointment to get the results.  If it was a hospital consultant that referred you, I would contact their secretary to ask for the results.

I would take it as being good that you have not been contacted already (I had a call from my doctors within a couple of days of an ultrasound, when a tumour was found on it, then fast tracked for ct & mri scans).

However, for your own peace of mind, chase up your gp and see what they say.

    Good luck

    Annie

  • thank you Annie and I am sorry you got bad news.  hope oyu are coping.  I am hoping that such a delay in getting results is a positive sign. x

  • Hi Brenda

Thank you, I am well, it was a liver tumour which was removed in August.  It turned out to be benign after testing.  So even when things look really bleak, sometimes it still turns out ok!

Hope that it turns out ok for you also.
