Have you had sedation before because I just had it for a Colonoscopy and I felt fully in control and could hear and understand everything they were saying ,and was able to move when they asked me to ,I was fine to get changed straight after ,although I'm aware it might not be the same for everyone .

I had sedation for both a colonoscopy and an endoscopy. I didn't remember much from the endoscopy but there were no issues. I'd go with it if I were you.

Thanks I have decided to go for the transnasal one instead.  With no sedation,  so I guess I now need to ask what are peoples experience of this .

A few years ago, not connected to my cancer diagnosis, I had endoscopy and colonoscopy without sedation, as I had to drive myself there and home. It wasn't pleasant at all, and when I went in to the recovery room afterwards, everyone else was calm and I was a spluttering, crying mess. I assumed they all chose sedation and I will definitely have sedation if there's a next time.

Hi, I’ve had both and for me the spray was very distressing and sore. Definitely sedation, most of the time you won’t remember much at all.
