Referral to breast clinic.

Hi, has anyone had a breast lump with thickening going into the armpit ?  And it turned out to be nothing of concern / cancer ? 
bit of background about me,  I found a lump in my right breast I have always had lumpy breasts but I have also had a prominent lump in my armpit. I feel I have always had this to be honest or for long as I can remember it sort of more obvious on the right side when I lift both of my arms up in the air and compare the two. I have noticed it has got bigger it seems to flare up more when I am due on my period and more obvious to the eye. 

 I went to the breast clinic in 2021 and they done a biopsy on this armpit because they noticed thickening and I also had a mammogram all clear. I was told after it wasn’t a concern and there was no cancer there so no follow ups needed and sometimes this sort of thing happens but it wasn’t a concern in my case. 
well I went to the doctors yesterday because I have a dull pain in my right breast and armpit GP confirmed I have lump and she used the term thickening going into my armpit. The breast clinic phoned me this morning and i have an appointment a week today at the breast clinic. I am pleased that everything is moving so fast. I am just concerned that the Gp said to me yesterday that the breast clinic should have been monitoring me for the thickening that I had in 2021. 
I didn’t question the cancer specialist at that time I respected their educated advice / opinion. Obviously my mind is running away with its self. I am lucky that I am being seen so quickly so trying to hold on to the positives.

    Wishing you lots of luck. I can't help with your questions but just wanted to say I'm going through something similar. Told I need an urgent referral on Wed so just waiting for the appointment to come through. It's my first experience of something like this. I have tenderness/discomfort going in a line on the top/left side of my left breast up to just below my armpit. When I lift my arm I can see that the skin pulls in along the line of tenderness, like a crease. It also feels thicker underneath. Hoping for the best.

    you should hear back from the breast clinic very soon within two weeks at most hopefully before that and get some answers. 
    it’s the waiting game isn’t it, I wasn’t overly concerned until I saw the Gp yesterday because obviously I have previous experience and have been reassured before. 
    what I can tell you is the breast clinic are amazing and you will be in safe hands. Wishing you the best possible outcome. Xx

    wishing you both luck Simone80 & SkyboundEm12. I understand the waiting game and how awful it feels. I went to my GP today with a large lump which has been growing since end of September. I thought it might be a cyst and might lessen in size but decided I needed it seen to as it has not gone and has started aching. GP has referred me and I have an appt in 2 weeks. She didn't say much though, only that the lump/mass is 6cm long. I guess she doesn't want to say anything or what she thinks. My mum has had breast cancer x1 and repeated ovarian cancer and now she is on tablets for life to keep it in check - so I think this is why I was referred as well. In August I was referred for losing weight and swallowing issues and give a chest x ray and gastroscopy - they found nothing - but I didn't worry then. But I am worrying now. I think it is because of the presence of the mass and that it can be felt and seen. I hope both of you are OK and manage to remain as calm as possible whilst waiting for results. It is not easy at all and the temptation to google symptoms forever is too much as well - often different medical institutions say different things as well. Hoping for the best for yourselves and myself and all others in this waiting game...

    Wishing you phoenix_verity all the very best. I am sorry to hear you have had a lot of health concerns. Try and stay positive! Because it gets so draining with all the worrying and I for one can totally relate to that, it’s so hard not to over think things. I hope you get a positive outcome at the breast clinic.
