Possible cervical cancer - been referred on 2 week pathway

Hi all,

Just looking for people who have had similar issues and wondering how it turned out for you?

I’ve had some bleeding after sex and spotting between my period so I went to my GP. I also get what feels like period pains when I’m not on my period. She did an examination with a speculum but not a smear test and said it looked very red and inflamed also took swabs for infections. She has referred me on 2WW pathway to gynae at the hospital.

has anyone had similar and did it turn out to be cancer or something like an infection or cervical ectropion?

    Hi, I had an ultrasound scan which was all normal and also had a colposcopy and they did an extra bit to take tissue samples from my uterus. All came back normal. I got told it’s an ectropion and offered to burn it off? But I declined. I still get the bleeding but I’m due my usual smear test next autumn also so hopefully that will also come back as normal. Hopefully yours is similar. I hope you get good news.
