Conflicted

Recently had a PET scan to determine if I had skin lymphoma, also had an ultrasound on a lump under my ear. PET scan showed no concerns, nurse assumed lump under ear is cyst but didn't take an FNA sample to confirm, was later told radiologist looked at the ultrasound & was also happy to cone to the same conclusion. Despite those facts I've had more "cysts" appear systematically around my body that cause numbness at first & seem to damage soft tissue in those areas. I'm losing weight. I expressed concerns about a rubber band ligation I had almost a year ago, I expressed concerns of the lumps & soft tissue damage before & after these scans but the medical staff won't bring my appointment closer. My symptoms are worsening & i feel like im being treated like a hypochondriac despite having ongoing symtoms since March 2022. Can I request an MRI scan when they do see me on the 30th September?

I’m sorry to hear about the frustrations and concerns you’ve been dealing with, especially with the ongoing symptoms and feeling like you’re not being listened to. It’s understandable that you’re worried, particularly as the lumps have been appearing and you’re experiencing weight loss and other troubling symptoms.
It’s completely reasonable to want more clarity, and when you attend your appointment on the 30th of September, you might want to ask about further investigations like an MRI. It’s important to voice your concerns and make sure you feel heard, especially as you’ve been dealing with this for quite some time.
Hopefully other who have been in a similar situation will be here soon with advice and to share their experiences with you.
Also, our nurses are here to take your call if you feel like speaking with them might help before your appointment on the 30th. They’re available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.
Last but not least just to mention we’re keeping our fingers crossed for you. Once you know more, please come back and update us if you find a moment.
