Hello. Finally had my sigmoidoscopy yesterday and was wondering if anyone can give me a little more insight (seeing as I haven't seen the doctor for a proper follow up yet).

Basically I had 2 internal haemorrhoids banded and 4 biopsies of patchy erythematous mucosa.

So my question is, what exactly is patchy erythematous mucosa? Is it serious? 

I did manage to watch the live feed of the camera and this mucosa problem appeared to be little red patches or spots, like a small rash. Did this contribute to the bleeding issue I have been getting or would that have been the haemorrhoids entirely?
