Is my back pain bladder cancer

After  2 years of on and off  microscopic blood in dip, an assortment of antibiotics I’ve got to the point where in the last couple of weeks I’ve been having very odd back pain that seems to creep up my back during the course of the day and then settling overnight only to start again the following day.

At last a different GP has listened to me, arranged for another set of blood test and has mentioned having a camera taking a look.
I’ve not had any typical UTI symptoms at all.   It was the lower back pain that brought me back in to see somebody.  At first I thought it was a problem with my kidneys, but that function is looking okay.

I realise you don’t have cancer unless tests tell you so but that doesn’t stop you worrying and going down that rabbit hole.

Having no one to share your fears with this stage is difficult, O/H will say “what’s wrong with you now, there’s always something”,  there have been quite a few issues this year.

I’ve got to thinking it is bladder ”c”  because my back aches, it seems it could be a symptom on its own, its already spread.

  • Hi K_B,

I'm sorry to hear of your worries. It's good to hear that you've spoken to the doctor about this and that they are arranging further tests.

It will only be your doctor who can advise on this, so hopefully it's not long to wait for your appointment and for any information to follow. Do be sure to discuss any questions or concerns with them at that appointment and when you find out any results.

I hope you hear more soon.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben

  • Thank you for answering.  I’m now awaiting results for suspected myeloma.   Don’t know what to do with myself now.
