Found a white spot on my breast. Should I be worried?

I am a 66 years old woman. This morning I noticed a small white spot in my right nipple. I looked at the internet, and found out some information saying a fat spot related to usually with women with breast feeding. I am not in this category. Should I worry and contact with my GP?

  • Hello Zake

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently found a spot on your breast that has worried you. We would always recommend that anyone who has concerns about their breast health see their GP in the first instance.

Hopefully, they will be able to give you some reassurance when you see them but if necessary they can arrange a referral to the local breast clinic.

If you'd like to talk things through with one of our nurses you can call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

    Best wishes,

  • Morning Jenn,

Thank you for your kind respond. Yesterday after talking to a nurse from your help line, I went to see my GP, she examined me and told me to not to worry to much about it, because she did not find any lump in my breast but observe my nipple for 4 weeks , if there is any change then she will see me again. I hope it will go away soon.

    Kind regards,

    Zake

    Hi Zake,

I'm glad to hear that you decided to see your GP for advice. It is good to see that she didn't find a lump, but that she has not dismissed you. Don't hesitate to go back and see her again in 4 weeks, to see if there has been any change.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
