Abnormal Vaginal Bleeding

I didn't know if to post but I am starting to worry.

Context. I am a 35 year old female who does not usually have periods due to the pill I am on that is taken daily with no breaks. I have had one abnormal smear (my first one) and high grade changes removed, but all fine since. 3 years ago (2021) I was the healthiest I have been in my adult life after losing some wight. Fast forward, after having covid and then long covid and now a weakened immune system where I pick up every virus I have put on about 5 stone!! There are some genuine reasons I can see for the weight gain, but I genuinely cannot see how so much has gone on (I am not delusional). Also I have PCOS.

Anyway, for a while I have on and off been having pain during or after intercourse and some light spotting. I have also been having abdominal pains. This led to DR ordering an ultrasound. This did not seem to pick up anything new, just the PCOS and a small different type of cyst that they knew about. But after the internal ultrasound, I had spotting on and off a few days. About a week later I had a vaginal swap to rule out infection. Came back clear, but was till bleeding, and the bleeding got heavier after that.

I have now been bleeding on and off (mostly on), I have bled for 24 out of the last 33 days. Some light spotting and some very heavy with clots, like liver chunks (sorry tmi). Every time I think it is slowing down back to spotting it starts again. I think I seem to start again after having a bowel movement.

The Doc has now put a referral in for gyne but it is not a quick one. Sorry that this was a long post, but this is so worrying now.

  • Thanks for the reply.

I know it might be silly to worry as the tests (blood and ultrasound) have been normal. But that was before the bleeding started. And I know this isn't normal for me.

I just have to wait now for my gyne app to come through.

    Again, thanks for the reply.
