Hrt, bleeding scared it's womb cancer

I am so worried

I have been on hrt for 3 years and have bled (very small amounts spotting)    every 3 months      (I'm 54)

I just ignored it thinking it was normal

a few weeks ago I missed a dose as I ran out of the progesterone tablet and I bled for 2 days

I went for a pelvic ultrasound, who said my endometrium was 7mm and there was an irregular fluid (possibly a polyp) , she also said there was blood there, but I didn't think anything of it

But now I have googled the ultrasound pictures,     blood is bad,

I'm so scared. I can't think straight

My husband has blood cancer and worries all the time, I cant speak to him and add to his worries as well

  • Hello Ronderon

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently had some health concerns that led to your having an ultrasound. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious and have questions about the scan results.

We know that many people turn to the internet searching for answers when they have health issues. Unfortunately what happens most often is that they are left feeling even more worried and still with no answers for their particular circumstances. Please try to avoid googling for information if you can.

Do you know what the next steps are regarding your ultrasound results? Hopefully, you have an appointment arranged with your GP or referring doctor soon and they will be able to give you some clarity and reassurance about things.

In the meantime, I wonder if you might find it helpful to talk things through with one of our nurses. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information and support they can. If you'd like to talk with them they're available MOnday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

Hopefully you will have some answer soon Ronderon. Do let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
    Jenn
