Worried about my mum

My mum had her bloods taken 4 weeks ago now,the GP said her liver enzymes extremely high. She also struggled with swallowing. They booked her in for a endoscopy and CT under the 2week referral. She d her CT almost 3 weeks ago and we've heard nothing, she had a clear endoscopy and she's awaiting a liver scan ( booked before CT) were panicking like mad thinking the worst because she's lost weigh and had extremely bad stomach pain! She's worried it's pancreatic cancer or liver cancer  I wish we have her CT results back because that would show something at least I'm Very anxious about her scan on Friday too

  • Hello C.martin30.

I'm sorry to hear that your Mum is undergoing investigations at the moment for some health concerns. Naturally, it's a worrying time for you both. Hopefully, the scan she is due to have today will give the doctors the information they need to make a diagnosis.

We know that for many people this period of waiting and uncertainty can be very difficult. It's understandable that you are both feeling anxious. Sometimes it can help to talk with someone about how you're feeling. If you think you, or your Mum, might find it beneficial to talk things through with one of our nurses you're welcome to give them a call. I know they will be happy to offer any advice, information and support they can. If you'd like to talk with them they're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

I do hope that you have some answers soon. Keep in touch and let us know how your Mum gets on.

    Best wishes,
