I'm sorry to hear that you've had some bowel concerns recently which now mean you need a colonoscopy. It's understandable that you may be feeling anxious.

It's important to remember that you need to have an empty bowel for the test so the endoscopist can clearly see the inside of your bowel. This is why you are given medications to empty your bowel the day before the test.
