Lymphoma

Do you you always have an enlarged lymph node in the neck, groin or armpit with NHL? I have multiple symptoms of NHL diagnosed including- low platelets, low haemoglobin, enlarged spleen, night sweats, temperature and itch but can't find any enlarged lymph nodes.

  • Hi MargaretC,

You will find information on our website on symptoms of non-Hodgkin lymphoma and the one that is most commonly listed symptom is indeed  "one or more painless swellings in the neck, armpit or groin". I don't know myself whether you always have enlarged lymph nodes with NHL but you could perhaps give our cancer nurses a call on this free number 0808 800 4040 - their helpline is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm and they will be able to tell you more I am sure about the symptoms that are linked to NHL.

The best thing to do though if you haven't done so already is to talk to your GP about these symptoms you are currently experiencing as these need to be looked into by a medical expert. Your doctor will also be in the best position to answer your question about enlarged lymph nodes fully and accurately.

I hope that you will hear from other members of our community who have had similar symptoms before as it helps to talk to others who have been in a similar place.

Hopefully you will get to talk to your GP about all this soon and it all turns out to be nothing too concerning.

    Best wishes,
