I know this is probably not the group to post this, but not sure where else to go.
I’ve had swallowing problems for some time and it’s been put down to another condition I have. I’ve lived on a thin blended diet for years. Over the past 3 years the upper swallowing has got quite severe. Felt a lump on right hand side when I swallow.
Two years ago a barium swallow spotted a possible lump in my ‘upper swallow’. A subsequent endoscopy didn’t see anything.
Last week, another hospital did a barium swallow, and it specifically said there was something in the pinius sinus on the right hand side. That’s where I have trouble and can feel a lump. I’d been turning my head to the side to avoid that area when I swallow.
The original gastroenterologist that ordered the endoscopy two years ago has now said it’s not good at spotting problems in that area.
Alongside all this I’ve been having strange lower back problems, where it hurts when I sneeze.
I’ve been referred to ENT for urgent assessment. My symptoms match throat cancer which has spread to spine, probably via lungs.
This prognosis would be very unlikely to be survivable for me.
Obviously I’m beside myself with worry. I’m angry at myself that I put it all down to my other condition, and did nothing.
I have a wife and daughter and we are all really worried. In fact more worried than we’ve ever been.
I guess I’m posting here for two reasons. Don’t assume it’s EDS unless it’s confirmed, and in the hope someone here can say they’ve been through something similar,
