Pathology diagnosis benign I'm worried incorrect 2nd opinion how?

For many many many reasons I'm worried my diagnosis of a benign condition is incorrect. Has anyone any experience with this and has any advice on getting a second opinion having the tests of my biopsy sample done again elsewhere please?

  • Hello Ray89xo,

If you are worried that your diagnosis is incorrect, it's worth seeking a second opinion just for peace of mind. There is information on our website on getting a second opinion which I hope you will find helpful. Try and book another appointment with a specialist/another GP and make sure you mention that you would like to have the tests of your biopsy sample done again. Just talking things through with another expert will help you understand perhaps your current diagnosis and biopsy sample results and they will be able to give you their expert opinion on whether they deem it necessary to have these tests done again. It's important that you voice all your concerns and explain why you would like to have these repeated.

I hope that you manage to speak to someone soon and that you will also hear from the experiences of members of our community who have been in a similar place before and that they will share with you how they themselves dealt with this kind of situation.

    Best wishes,
