1 week until urgent gynaecology appt.

Good evening,

I am new here and would like a little bit of advice. I am 54years old and considered post menopausal. I have been bleeding every couple of months or so , last week I bled for 5 days with clotting. I am on the top dosage of HRT gel and also 6 tablets a day and have been experiencing excessive sweating for over a year now. Change my pants up to 4 times a day and suffer with forehead and nape of neck sweating. When I went to dr’s regarding this she referred me for urgent 2 week referral stating ‘possible gynaecological malignancy. I am freaking out about this and it doesn’t help that it’s easy to google everything.

My appt is a week on Tuesday and all I’ve been told is to go with a full bladder.

Any advice on what to expect would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hi MrsPro,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I can understand your worries - although the referral will mean you get the answers you need soon, and I'm glad to hear that it's not too long to wait for the appointment.

Ahead of this you may find it helpful to talk things through with one of our nurses. If you'd like to do this, you can reach them on freephone 0808 800 4040 - Monday-Friday, 9-5 (excluding bank holidays).

Otherwise, if other members of the forum have similar experience or advice to offer then hopefully you'll get some more replies soon.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
