Mammagram and ultrasound reassuring but still had biopsy.

Hi all, new to group, and not usually one to be using forums.

I had Mammagram, and ultrasound yesterday after finding thickening and small lump, which both doc and consultant at one stop breast clinic confirmed. Mammagram and ultrasound were reassuring, however, consultant felt she needed to do biopsy as she had felt something. I had core biopsy done, with results coming in two to 4 weeks. Obviously, I am now a little worried, even though scans were fine. Wondered if anyone else has been through this too.

  • Hello Dawney1

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently had some concerns about your breast health. It's good to know that you've already been seen at the breast clinic and that there was nothing immediately concerning seen on your mammogram and ultrasound.

It's not uncommon for people to still have a biopsy after a mammogram or ultrasound. The Consultant will want to be erring on the side of caution and hopefully when your results come through they will be able to give you reassurance.

In the meantime, if you'd like to talk things through with one of our nurses you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm (excluding bank holidays).

Do let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
