I went to a one stop breast clinic four weeks ago after finding a lump in my breast. They did an ultrasound (38 years old so was told a mammogram would not be best for imaging). Following the ultrasound they decided to do a core biopsy. I was told after that everything looked fine and they would likely just send a letter confirming this.
fast forward two days and I receive an email asking me to attend an appointment which was scary as it was so unexpected. At the appointment I was told the lump was benign but that they had taken a second biopsy and that the results had come back inconclusive. As a result they asked me to go for a mammogram.
I was very confused and don’t really understand why given the ultrasound and the biopsy and the nurse would t give me any further information.
I have now had the mammogram (yesterday) and I am still none the wiser and no one seemed to be able to tell me when I would hear anything.
has anyone else had similar? I’m starting to get very anxious and daily life is starting to suffer with this hanging over us.
