The time between getting things done on the NHS and going private is getting similar in a number of conditions, because a lot more people are now going private and they too have waiting times. Private is also expensive. Fatty lumps are common, and probably that if it's squishy as cancer tends to be firm. Doctors can usually tell if something is benign with just feeling it. Some lumps need doubled checked regardless, though, but even amongst those lumps that need checked further, the vast majority turn out to be nothing.
