Suspicious endometrial polyp and thickened endometrium

Hi. Can anyone please advise.  I had some post menopausal bleeding but wasn't worried as small amount.  I mentioned to my Dr who examined me and urgently referred. I was scanned and had hysteroscopy relatively quickly. Was told I had a large polyp with suspicious areas and also had the endometrial biopsies.  This was 7 weeks ago and it was sent  urgently. Despite me chasing it up via secretary I have been told went to outside lab as lack of pathologists in my area but no report or results yet.  I'm beside myself. 7 weeks seems excessive when cancer suspected.  Has anyone else experienced this waiting time please. Thank you

  • Hello Sharon3003,

7 weeks is indeed a long time to have to wait for biopsy results so you did well to chase it up and at least they have given you an explanation for the delay. Have they said how much longer it might take to get these results? If you hear nothing in the next few days or couple of weeks, I would call them again maybe and try and find out whether they can give you an update as to when the results will come through.

I hope that you will hear from other members who have experienced similar waiting times and that they will be along shortly to share their experience with you. Waiting for results is so stressful and it must be even more so for you as you've experienced these delays and it can seem like time is dragging on a little. I thought I would share with you these helpful tips to help you cope while waiting for important news and I am keeping everything crossed for you that you get these biopsy results very soon and that you get some reassuring news.

    Best wishes,
