Would a cancerous breast lump be visible?

First to start i am currently on my period, so possibly hormonal and i have been told previously i have lumpy breasts.

I have some very visible lumps appear on my right breast and i am freaking out. I've been down the worm hole that is google and can find nothing that stated lumps are visible on the surface.

I will be making a GP appointment asap, but I need to type, because i am concerned.

They aren't very hard. Seem to be able to move them. Kind of squishy. Just oh so visible. Which nothing has ever been before. I check my breasts regularly as i have had some scares previously.

Should i wait until my period is finished to make that appointment just in case it is hormone related? I am 35 and most Definity starting the perimenopause also.

  • Hello Natalie9289

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently had some concerns about your breast health. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious.

Please do make an appointment with your GP surgery for a breast health examination. Hopefully, they will be able to offer you some reassurance but if necessary they can refer you to the local breast clinic for further investigations. It may help to keep in mind that the majority of people seen by a breast care team will not be diagnosed with cancer, however, it is important to get lumps checked.

If you'd like to talk things through with one of our nurses for some advice and support you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

Do let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
