  • Hi Beaumont44,

I just wanted to say we are thinking of you during this stressful time. I guess the MDT meeting was today and I hope that you get an appointment soon to find out exactly what is going on. It's completely normal to be scared when dealing with all this uncertainty at the moment and after having been through all these tests.

Let us know what you find out - you are not alone though and many members of our community have been through this before and will hopefully come and say hello soon and share their stories with you. While you are waiting, as there is nothing harder than waiting for a diagnosis, I thought I would share with you our helpful tips to help you cope while waiting for news.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi my consultants meeting is weds at 10 o'clock, I have never ever felt as scared in my life , I have never had a panic attack but I def am now ! I've not gone to work I just have no motivation , how do I keep positive ?? I have amazing family and friends , I'm thinking not telling my kids much so far is stressing me out too x

  • Hi Beaumont44

i can really relate to how you are feeling as I’ve been through the same thing. I’m going through various stages of treatment now so I’m further ahead. I can say with certainty that now you’re in the system then things will happen and be sure your team will deliver the best treatment for you. I’m happy to chat if you feel it helps. We didn’t tell people including the children until we had all the information as to treatments and timings. We made that decision as we couldn’t answer their questions until that point. Try to stay positive.

  • Hi thankyou for your reply , yeah I imagine after my consultation on weds things will get moving quite quickly as its been quick already, how is your treatment going ? Staying positive is so hard isn't it , its consumed me everyday for a month now , its really nice to talk to someone tho thanks again ..sending lots of love .

  • Hi I had 6 weeks of two weekly chemo before I had surgery. Unfortunately my surgery was quite complicated but had brilliant surgeon. I had a good outcome with so evidence of cancer left. I now have to decide if I want further chemo as oncologist has said it will have minimal impact on any outcome but a further 3 months of chemo could affect my kidneys etc! Not an easy decision but one only I can make. Remember everyone’s cancer is different and so is everyone’s treatment. Be strong and don’t be afraid to ask question. Also I learnt to be selfish and say no a lot more! Keep in touch.

  • Hi how was the chemo for you ? I've not looked into it at all , obviously like you say everyone is different and need different treatment , I'm struggling going to work today I just want to curl up in bed ! But got to go , yes that's a big decision for you , hope you can decide for the best , it is good to talk to someone going through it too..u sound strong , I just think to myself I've no choice ! Anyway better get ready for work , take care speak soon xx

  • Hi first lot of chemo was not too bad as I was fairly fit. I know the feeling of wanting to just curl up in bed. I still have days like that but it passes. We do all have a choice but we choose life and that’s good. Life maybe different and a new normal but it’s still the best option. You will be strong once you start your journey, as they say. You will get choices and also the best care possible. You’re stronger than you think and you can do this. Take care. Xx

  • Thankyou for your reply , see what tomorrow brings ! Xxx

  • Hi how it it go today I was thinking about you. Xx
