Uterine Scan

Recently had a TVU scan and the gp rushed through the report. But having read through the tort that was sent to my gp I don't really understand it.

"There is a 7 x 3 x 4mm hypoechoic area with vascularity, an endometrial thickness of 7mm. Possible polyp with feeder vessel."

Should I be worried? I'm having a hysteroscopy to have this polyp removed and tested for malignancy.

  • Hi Amee,

Unfortunately no-one on the forum can interpret medical reports, but if you're able to speak to your GP they should hopefully be able to explain what this means and answer any other questions you have about this.

Many of our members who have had a uterine scan will know how scary and worrying this time can be, so you are alone Amee, and hopefully it won't be long until some of them stop by to offer their support and advice.

If you'd like to talk any of this through with one of our cancer nurses, they're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

We're thinking of you Amee and wishing you all the best with your hysteroscopy.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
