Dreadful Experience

Last year I had a cvst and massive brain haemorrhage and was in hospital for nearly 3 months. I’ve recovered well, but received the shock that my last MRI scan identified that I have a parotid legion which has shown a signal change. This scan was done over 20 weeks ago, but they haven’t bothered reading and reporting it. I’m furious after all I’ve been through and now think about C.
Having had CVST I now have a brain injury which causes me massive anxiety at the best of times.
Since I  was informed of the parotid it’s been 3 weeks and I’ve been told results of scan will take up to 4 weeks.
I’ve cried for days, can’t sleep, can’t eat and can’t cope at all. Life is a nightmare with a brain injury and the left side of my brain is damaged from the haemorrhage, affecting emotion etc.

Ive contacted PALS to help me, but there’s a limit what they can do and my GP is sympathetic but can’t do anything to help me. I’ll be insane waiting weeks for the answer and next steps.
Any advice what to do to get someone to help me. Thanks.
pS Anti depressants aren’t helping.

  • Hi Manxmoo,

I'm sorry to hear you've been waiting so long to get answers about this. This sounds like a difficult situation and I can imagine it must be incredibly tough, especially dealing with the uncertainty too.

It's good to hear you're in contact with PALS - hopefully that will be helpful. You can keep in touch with your hospital to chase for results once it gets close to or beyond the expected timescale to hear back.

It's much easier said than done, but try to keep busy and focused on other things while you wait. Anything that you think might help to keep your mind off the worries. And try to take things just one day at a time.

Others on the forum may have thoughts to offer as well, and if so then hopefully you'll get some more replies to your post.

I hope you're able to hear more soon.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
