I just wanted to pop by and offer some reassurance. 
The lump you have could be absolutely nothing. My dad had a similar lump this time last year and whilst his turned out to need treatment, we met lots of people along the way that didn’t receive a diagnosis so it really could be nothing serious. 
On the off chance it is something, like my Dad’s was, he was diagnosed with tonsil cancer stage 1 and is completely healthy today after a surgery and radiotherapy, so even if it is sinister they can fix it and that’s the important thing!

Thankyou so much for the reply! I’m so young so didn’t even think cancer would be a possibility. I’m a mum to 2 young children so a little worried. Can I ask did your dad have any other symptoms? Or was it just the lump?
